Love in a bowl

Love in a bowl is a community that aims to provide healthy, locally grown food to needy children and elderly people.

The community consists of various individuals: non-profit organizations, restaurants, business owners, brokers, and most importantly, farmers, parents, children, health workers, and many more. The connection between these individuals is their social commitment. They live by the motto, "If one of us is hungry, we all are." People are not viewed as individuals, but always as a community. Through the cultivation of organic vegetables on mini-farms, the sense of community extends to the entire Hout Bay community, Africa. There are now 48 vegetable circles and 37 employees who supply 24 kitchens with vegetables. The goal is to provide up to 6,000 needy children and elderly people with access to healthy meals. This type of community is a great commitment and shows a lot of charity. The vision of the program is "zero hunger in our community". With many people helping, "Love in a Bowl" wants to ensure that no one has to go hungry. And not just to no longer go hungry, but above all to provide children and elderly people with a wholesome and healthy meal. The vegetables are grown themselves, without CO₂ consumption, without toxins and without poisons. The organization combines important aspects of life in our time. Community, love, helpfulness and humanity are at the center. The climate-neutral approach, which is important for the preservation of our planet, is also an important aspect that "Love in a Bowl" considers. Through its positive influence, the organization has created a strong cohesion. "One community, one table, one love", is how the members describe their community. I think it's great that by supporting Joaloka, I can also support organizations like this and thus contribute to reducing hunger. Especially for children and elderly people, a balanced meal is essential. Joalanke and Love in a Bowl contribute to a better planet.
