Sentinel Ocean Alliance
Supporting the Sentinel Ocean Alliance is a valuable contribution to the protection of our oceans. The SOA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing disadvantaged youth with the opportunity to learn all about the ocean and its importance. Together with the Parley Ocean School, they help children and young people feel connected to nature and understand what it means when plastic is not properly recycled. Additionally, the children can learn to swim. Through their connection to the environment, children and young people learn how important it is to be mindful of their ecological footprint and to live in harmony with nature. Furthermore, the children are offered opportunities and experiences they would otherwise not have due to their disadvantaged position in society. It's about creating meaningful values and broadening horizons. Children should experience that there is more to the world than gunfights and cigarette smoke. They should learn to dream. There are various programs for children, such as ocean-related skill development like lifeguarding, surfing, swimming, and environmental education. This aims to reduce school dropout rates and unemployment. They are encouraged to become mentors and teachers for other children as well.
In addition to its partnership with the Parley Ocean School, the SOA also focuses on beach clean-ups and prepares healthy meals for disadvantaged children and young people.
These are things we should all learn and be able to do. In times like these, where climate change affects us all and the oceans face unprecedented threats, it is even more important to spread and share these values. As a company that is also committed to environmental protection, it is exactly right to support such organizations that care not only about the environment but also about disadvantaged children and young people. To continue these programs, coaches rely on donations and further support. It is a great project supported by Joaloka.
